3. Enquiries and Quotations

Information submitted through our website, including contact forms and quotation requests, does not automatically create a contract between you and Volt Network.

Any quotation we provide will be based on the information available to us at the time.

A quotation may be subject to:

  • Site surveys
  • Electrical assessments
  • Property access
  • Existing electrical infrastructure
  • Cable routes and cable lengths
  • Consumer unit capacity
  • DNO requirements or approval where applicable
  • Planning requirements where applicable
  • Equipment availability
  • Additional installation requirements

A quotation may be revised if a site survey or further assessment identifies additional work or costs that were not reasonably foreseeable when the original quotation was prepared.

4. Site Surveys and Assessments

Where required, we may carry out a site survey or electrical assessment before confirming an installation.

The customer must provide reasonable access to the property, electrical equipment, parking areas, roof areas or other locations required to assess and complete the proposed work.

If circumstances at the property differ from the information provided when the quotation was prepared, additional work or charges may apply.

5. Installation Services

Installation work will be carried out in accordance with the agreed scope of work and applicable laws, regulations and technical requirements.

The precise installation method may vary depending on the property and equipment selected.

We reserve the right to use suitably qualified employees, subcontractors or installation partners where appropriate.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that we have reasonable access to the property at the agreed time.

6. Electrical and Property Requirements

Customers must provide accurate information regarding their property and existing electrical installation.

Installation may depend on the suitability and condition of the existing electrical system.

Where additional electrical work is required to safely complete an installation, we will advise the customer where reasonably practicable.

We may decline or postpone an installation where the property, electrical system or proposed installation location is considered unsuitable or unsafe.

7. EV Charger Installation

EV charger installations are subject to the specifications and limitations of the selected charger and the customer’s electrical supply.

Charging performance may be affected by:

  • Vehicle specifications
  • Charger specifications
  • Electricity supply
  • Electrical infrastructure
  • Smart charging settings
  • Network connectivity
  • Vehicle software
  • Manufacturer restrictions

Volt Network cannot guarantee a particular charging speed where factors outside our reasonable control affect the charging performance.

8. Solar Panel Installation

Solar PV performance depends on a number of factors, including:

  • Roof orientation
  • Roof pitch
  • Shading
  • Weather conditions
  • Panel specification
  • System size
  • Electricity consumption
  • Inverter performance
  • Seasonal variations

Any estimated energy generation or savings provided by Volt Network is an estimate and is not a guarantee of future energy generation, savings or financial return.

9. Battery Storage

Battery storage systems operate according to the manufacturer’s specifications and the configuration agreed for the installation.

Battery performance and available capacity may vary depending on factors including usage, temperature, system configuration, age and manufacturer settings.

Any estimated savings or financial benefits are indicative only and are not guaranteed.

10. Additional Work and Costs

Additional work may be required where unforeseen circumstances are discovered during an installation.

Examples may include:

  • Additional cabling
  • Upgrades to electrical equipment
  • Additional protective devices
  • Consumer unit upgrades
  • Groundworks
  • Difficult or extended cable routes
  • Structural work
  • Roof repairs or modifications
  • Additional access equipment
  • DNO-related requirements
  • Remedial work required to bring an existing installation to a safe standard

Where reasonably practicable, we will inform you of additional costs before carrying out the additional work.

Additional work will normally require customer approval before proceeding, unless necessary to make the installation safe.

11. Customer Responsibilities

The customer agrees to:

  • Provide accurate information when requesting our services
  • Provide reasonable access to the property
  • Ensure that we can safely access relevant areas
  • Inform us of known electrical, structural or access issues
  • Obtain any permissions that are the customer’s responsibility
  • Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for installed equipment
  • Make payments in accordance with the agreed payment terms

The customer must not interfere with, modify or attempt to repair electrical installations or equipment installed by Volt Network unless appropriately qualified to do so.

12. Equipment and Product Availability

Specific products, chargers, batteries, inverters, solar panels and other equipment may be subject to availability.

Where a specified product becomes unavailable, discontinued or subject to significant supply issues, we may propose a suitable alternative.

Any alternative equipment will be discussed with the customer where the substitution materially affects the agreed specification or price.

13. Prices and Payment

Prices will be provided in the relevant quotation or agreement.

Unless otherwise stated, quotations are based on the scope of work and information available at the time of quotation.

Payment terms will be specified in the quotation, invoice or agreement.

Failure to make payment when due may result in suspension or postponement of work.

Where applicable, additional costs may be charged for work outside the agreed scope.

14. Cancellation and Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact us as soon as possible.

Cancellation rights for consumers may also be affected by applicable UK consumer protection legislation, including rules relating to services agreed at a distance or away from business premises.

Where a customer asks us to begin work before the expiry of any applicable cancellation period, we may require appropriate confirmation of that request.

Any cancellation charges, where applicable, will be communicated to the customer before they become payable.

15. Installation Delays

We will make reasonable efforts to complete work within the agreed timeframe.

However, installation dates may be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including:

  • Equipment supply delays
  • Severe weather
  • Property access problems
  • DNO requirements or delays
  • Third-party delays
  • Unexpected electrical or structural issues
  • Government or regulatory requirements
  • Events beyond our reasonable control

Where there is a significant delay, we will endeavour to keep the customer informed.

16. Warranties and Manufacturer Guarantees

Equipment supplied as part of an installation may be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty or guarantee.

The duration and terms of such warranties depend on the manufacturer and specific product.

Where applicable, Volt Network will provide information regarding relevant product warranties.

Manufacturer warranties may be subject to registration, installation requirements, maintenance requirements and other conditions.

17. Workmanship

We aim to provide installations to a high professional standard.

Where you believe that installation work has not been completed satisfactorily, please contact us promptly so that we can investigate the issue.

We will assess reported defects and, where appropriate, arrange reasonable remedial work in accordance with the applicable agreement and consumer rights.

18. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Subject to applicable law, Volt Network will not be responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We are not responsible for losses resulting from:

  • Incorrect information supplied by the customer
  • Existing defects in a property or electrical installation
  • Customer modifications to installed equipment
  • Failure to follow manufacturer instructions
  • Misuse of equipment
  • Third-party systems or services
  • Internet or network connectivity issues
  • Vehicle-related faults
  • Electricity supply interruptions
  • Events outside our reasonable control

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
